The Education Administration is responsible for, among other things, preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The responsibility also includes student health, mother tongue education, school transport, and school meals. We work to create an inspiring learning environment for about 10,000 children and students. We have a strong vision of building knowledge and creating dreams.

The Workplace

The principal area of Urban West consists of Sjöviksskolan F-9, Kattebäckskolan F-6, Sjöviksskolan's adapted primary school, Klämmans preschool, Flaningens preschool, and the resource school Värnet.

Kattebäckskolan is located west of Trelleborg's center, about a 15-minute walk from the central station. Nearby, there is also a stop for city and regional buses. About 250 students in grades F-6 attend the school.

Sjöviksskolan is located in western Trelleborg between the scenic Albäckskogen and Flaningen, with green areas just outside the schoolyard. There are about 350 students in grades F-6 and about 190 students in grades 7-9. There is also an adapted primary school on the site focusing on subject areas, grades 1-9, with about 25 students.

Flaningens preschool is located in western Trelleborg near large green areas with groves, hills, and the Flaningen green area and lake. The preschool has four departments with over 80 children. The nearest primary school is Sjöviksskolan.

Klämmans preschool is located in the center, close to the city park, library, and Viking fortress. The preschool consists of four departments with about 75 children aged 1-5 years.

The resource school Värnet has units in Gislöv and Gylle.

Job Responsibilities

Sjöviksskolan is looking for an engaged resource educator with diabetes competence who can follow and support students throughout their school day – from teaching to after-school care. You will ensure the student's well-being through support in self-care (blood sugar measurement, insulin), act as a key person to enable good learning conditions, and manage communication with guardians.

As a resource educator at Sjöviksskolan, you will work closely with educators to ensure that students reach their goals. By supporting students in managing the routines of the school day and actively developing their social skills. You will belong to a work team during school hours and another at the after-school center.

Qualifications

We are looking for a driven resource educator with experience in student support and knowledge in diabetes care.

It is crucial that you have the ability to create an inclusive environment where every student feels seen and has the opportunity to succeed. Your responsiveness, engagement, and focus on individual needs make you a valuable asset to our team.

You have completed upper secondary education, where education from the child and youth program is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is a secure relationship-building person and has an inclusive perspective. You are patient, fearless, and handle the challenges that arise in everyday life. You take great responsibility and have a good understanding that your approach affects students' learning. You use clarifying pedagogy, visual support, and preferably TAKK in communication with students.

You have clear leadership and good structure that allows you to independently lead and organize your work to create a calm study environment and a good learning environment for students throughout the day. You see the whole picture and enjoy working in an environment that demands high flexibility, decisiveness, and social competence. Great emphasis will be placed on good collaboration skills and personal suitability.
